Founded in 1928, the fire department is one of the oldest in Northern Kentucky with a long tradition of exemplary service.  The Erlanger Rescue Squad was established in 1968 and merged with the fire department in 1992.  Today, the combination paid/volunteer fire department operates out of two stations and continues to take a leading role in the community.

News/Updates: 

09/20 - Erlanger placed into service a new Ford / Braun ambulance with Medic 64.  The 2015 Braun was reassigned to Medic 63 and the 2012 Braun became the Reserve Medic 65.

02/19 - Erlanger received a pair of new pumper trucks from E-One, they were assigned to Engine 51 and Engine 53.  The 2012 Sutphen previously assigned to Engine 51 was subsequently sold to the Fort Wright (KY) Fire Dept.

08/15 - Erlanger placed into service a new Ford / Braun ambulance with Medic 64.  The 2012 Braun was reassigned to Medic 63 and the 2009 Horton became the Reserve Medic 65.

08/12 - Erlanger has received their new Braun ambulance and it has been placed into service as Medic 64.

03/12 - The new Sutphen pumper truck for Engine 51 has been placed into service.  The E-One previously assigned to E51 is now Engine 52, and Engine 54 has been retired.

01/12 - Erlanger has approved the purchase of a new ambulance from Braun.

12/11 - Erlanger has recently placed into service a new Toyota Highlander for Medic 98 and a new Chevrolet as Utility 72.

01/11 - Erlanger has awarded the bid for a new rescue pumper to Sutphen.  Delivery will be in early 2012.

05/09 - Erlanger takes delivery of a new Ford / Horton ambulance for Ambulance 64.

02/08 - Congratulations to the EFD - they have recently upgraded their ISO rating from Class 3 to Class 2!
