Founded in 1904, the department is one of the oldest in Northern Kentucky with a long tradition of exemplary service. Today, the combination paid/volunteer fire department operates out of two stations. The newest station opened on Narrows Road in 1991 to service growing residential subdivisions. The main station was rebuilt in 1979, and currently quarters the Technical Rescue Team (TRT) in addition to the regular fire suppression apparatus.
