Dayton Fire Department

The first fire department in Dayton was established in 1898 and was a paid, professional unit.  The department was reorganized in 1934 as the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department, and a life squad was also established at that time.  In 2002 the department merged with the Bellevue Fire Department.  A more complete department history can be found here.
